Vam trained at The Royal London Hospital and graduated as a dentist in 2008. After completing his vocational training year, he worked as Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Southend General Hospital. Over the next 3 years, Vam worked in general practice as a Specialty Dentist in Southend, London and Cambridge. He also taught undergraduates at Queen Mary University, London as a clinical supervisor in Oral Surgery prior to embarking on his training pathway in periodontics (the treatment of gum disease). During this time, he completed his membership exams at the Royal College of Surgeons and was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery.
Vam has since completed his Advanced Clinical Diploma as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry, in the field of periodontology. He has conducted clinical research as well as co-authored several publications in key British journals.
